Matt Hetherington, PhD Student, Dept of Entomology - Tarnished plant bugs (Lygus lineolaris; TPB) are major pests across Eastern North America and a major concern of strawberry growers in Wisconsin.  In this study, we assessed the efficacy of alfalfa as a trap crop for TPB, finding that alfalfa edge rows reduced TPB populations in strawberry by 60%.
