About Me
I grew up in Cambridge, MA, and received my undergraduate degree in biology from Macalester College in Saint Paul, MN. After graduating I started a research technician position at the Illinois Natural History Survey through the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign where I collected data for a long-term monitoring survey of insects and plants in natural areas. Using collections from this survey I worked with Dr. David Zaya to track invasive beetles across the state. As a research assistant to Dr. Zaya I headed a study comparing the insect and plant diversity of restored grasslands. My master’s project in the Guédot lab will investigate the biological control of the red-headed flea beetle in cranberry using entomopathogenic nematodes. My research interests center on how agricultural land can be managed to be both productive for humans and non-destructive to insect diversity. Outside of the lab I enjoy dancing, reading, and hiking.
