About Me
Carbon Nurture is an advanced materials startup founded by Dr. Yelena Kann and Dr. Elijah Bolotin in Salem, Massachusetts, on a mission to solve the global plastic pollution problem through sustainable and regenerative innovation. We develop next-generation biodegradable plastics for agricultural and packaging applications — materials that perform like conventional plastics but naturally return to the environment at end-of-life. Our proprietary biodegradation-catalyst technology uses safe, naturally occurring minerals to trigger redox-driven reactions that convert plastics into organic compounds — supporting soil regeneration and carbon sequestration rather than pollution. Crucially, Carbon Nurture’s materials fit seamlessly into existing manufacturing systems and can be made from biobased or recycled feedstocks — combining scalability, performance, and environmental responsibility.
