About Me

Eric Ott is a field market development specialist with Valent USA covering Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, and Wisconsin. For the past 14 years he has worked on developing crop protection tools for use in row crops as well as tree fruit and vegetable production.
He earned a BS degree in agronomy and an MS degree in weed science both from Purdue University. Prior to joining Valent, he conducted weed control research in fruit and vegetable crops at Michigan State University in the Department of Horticulture.

2023 Session Descriptions

Accede PGR is a new PGR for late season chemical fruit thinning and a first of its kind peach thinner.
Accede contains a naturally occurring non-protein amino acid and is the precursor to ethylene in all plants. Ethylene affects many plant development processes including fruit drop, fruit coloring and fruit ripening. In this session, Accede PGR will be introduced to Wisconsin apple and peach growers.
