Anchored Roots Vineyard & Winery
Eric is the heart, hands, and horticultural soul behind Anchored Roots Vineyard & Winery. A Luxemburg, Wisconsin farm kid through and through, Eric grew up doing the daily chores that come with rural life. Early on, he realized cows and corn weren’t his calling; grapes were.
With a natural gift for growing things, Eric pursued his passion and earned a Master’s degree in Viticulture from Washington State University. Out west, he cut his teeth working in some of the country’s top vineyards and wineries, gaining years of boots-on-the-ground experience in grape growing, vineyard management, and fine winemaking.
But Wisconsin kept calling him home. The pull of Door County’s beauty, seasons, and memories proved too strong. Eric returned to plant his own roots—literally—establishing Anchored Roots Vineyard & Winery on the Door Peninsula he’s loved since childhood.
Today, Eric tends every vine with the same care and attention to detail he’s always given the land. His goal is simple: craft exceptional Wisconsin wines that reflect the unique terroir of Door County and create a place where friends and families can make memories that last a lifetime.
