John Hamm started Wisconsin River Meats near Mauston in 1990 with co-founder, Dave Mauer. Wisconsin River Meats custom processes beef, pork and other species for farmers and livestock producers throughout Wisconsin. They are also one of the leading game processors in the State. John has over 36 year's meat industry experience. He worked for Coloma Meats and Provisions, and also was the former owner of Hamm's Meat Service. John is a U.S. Marine Corp veteran, a graduate of the "all around butcher" course at Southwest Wisconsin Vo-Tech in Fennimore and served on the Juneau County Board of Supervisors. In addition to operating Wisconsin River Meats, John Hamm is a full time farmer, raising Belted Galloway Beef.
